Prof. Matthias Thommes, Head of Institute of Separation Science and Technology (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) has been distinguished for his outstanding contributions to the fundamentals of adsorption and the characterization of porous materials by the Separation Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The Plaque of Honor was awarded to him during a dedicated Honorary Session at the AIChE Annual Meeting 2024 on October 28th in San Diego, California, USA.

Prof. Stefano Brandani (University of Edinburgh) and Prof. Matthias Thommes (Friedrich-Alexander-University) are pleased to invite the International Adsorption Community to the Edinburgh-Erlangen School of Adsorption 2024, now in its third edition, which will take place in Edinburgh (UK) from September 3-6, 2024.

AIChE, Area 2e (Adsorption and Ion Exchange) announces Honorary Session for Prof. Thommes to be held at AIChE Annual Meeting, San Diego, October 2024.

Peter Leicht, Carola Schlumberger and Jincheng Xu presented their current research results at the 35. German zeolite conference, which took place between 28. February to 1. March 2024 in Jena.

The CPM International Workshop, chaired by Prof. Alex Neimark (Rutgers University, USA) and Prof. Matthias Thommes (University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany),  is the major tri-annual event in the adsorption and porous materials communities that is held in the USA. CPM-9 will take place from May 19-21, 2024 in Delray Beach, Florida, USA

Prof. Thommes delivered an invited lecture at the “7th Symposium on Challenges for Carbon-Based Nanoporous Materials” , organized by Prof. Katsumi Kaneko., which was held from October 18 - October 21, 2023 at Shinju University, Nagano in Japan.

From September 5 to September 8 the Erlangen-Edinburgh School of Adsorption 2023 (EESA 2023) took place in Erlangen. The school was organized by Prof. Matthias Thommes (Institute of Separation Science and Technology (TVT), Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg) and Prof. Stefano Brandani (University of Edinburgh).
