Successful Doctoral Thesis Defense of Simon Eder
Congratulations to Simon Eder for his successful doctoral thesis defense on 09.01.2025! He presented his work “The Influence of Confinement on the Adsorption Behavior of Supercritical Fluids in Nanoporous Materials for Gas Storage Applications”.
During his PhD thesis supervised by Prof. Matthias Thommes, Simon worked on high-pressure adsorption experiments, which are relevant in the context of gas storage applications. His objective was to gain a fundamental understanding of the correlation between textural properties of nanoporous material with the resulting shape of supercritical high-pressure adsorption isotherms. His results suggest important structure-property relationships and allowed to derive a rigorous approach for predicting gas storage properties of nanoporous materials at given thermodynamic conditions based on their textural properties.
Congratulations to Dr. Simon Eder!
